Random customer reviews : Been traveling with gate,my last was just last week to Peru and very disappointed with the tour manager,in my opinion that he need more training with the gate 1standard. The included meals were terrible,Ruben Aguirre was arrogant. I asked one time to use the whisper so we can hear him because most of the time we are behind,I think there’s 28 persons in our group and to write accurately all the informations in the board so we know our schedule,he told me that I should not tell him what to do…this is not a gate 1 standard,my 6 x travels with this company….One more when we went to MP,he just told us that. We will be in 2 group with his trainee Jose without even giving us a choice or detail.The highlight of this trip is the MP,and some of us again were disappointed because we were not able to go to the peak,again this is due of his arrogantcy,making decision for himself …..I hope gate 1 will train the managers well to their standards for customers satisfaction…I will continue to travel with his company cuz of my satisfactory experiences with the previous 5x trips….Thank You… See more info on Gate1travel reviews.
Some negative reviews : Had the terrible experience with Gate 1 Travel. The worst travel company of my lifetime led by Dani Mosher Pipany as a president , Beth Feleger as supervisor .. others… They do not care about people. The king in this company is money. I should read this review before any booking with Gate 1 Travel. Unfortunately , I was too much relying on the human decency. “Beware of using Gate 1 Travel. First, you are required to put down a deposit which you are told is to hold services. Should you decide to cancel, you are not given the deposit back as the company will tell you that they paid a penalty for the canceled service. This is not the case. Gate 1 banks your deposit – sometimes a year in advance of travel – and collect interest and pays NO cancellation fee to its vendors. If you are booking a tour, beware. Many times in the past, the owner, Dani Pipano is aware the tour will not be running or that MAJOR attractions advertised will not be available – however, employees are not allowed to tell the passenger instead are required to wait until just 14 days before travel to tell you that you won’t get to see what you’ve paid for.
Some positive reviews : It was wonderful. We have taken 7 trips with Gate 1 and this was a favorite, right up there with Greece, Ecuador and Galapagos cruise. Our guide was Henry Melgarejo who did an excellent job. His love and knowledge of his country were evident. Hotels were very good and price for entire trip with flights was economical. We changed flight from Miami to DC and Gate 1 charged identical price with no increase for changing departure site. Very nice! Henry was the best guide we’ve ever had. Group was a good size of 26. Henry escorted us through Machu Picchu and even rode the train with us. We felt entirely safe the entire trip and we learned so much about the Incas. Henry is an historian and college professor who studied in USA and Peru. Gate 1 executed our trip with precision and care. Buses were new and drivers were excellent.
