Trekking Himalaya base retreat 2019

The summit of Mount Everest, the highest mountain on earth, reaches 8,848 meters (29,028 feet) high. Trekking in the Mount Everest area became popular following the now legendary first ascent of the peak in 1953 by Edmund Hillary from New Zealand and the Sherpa Tensing Norgay. Since that time, many more have summited the mountain, but far more trek the route to Everest Base Camp simply for a glimpse of the peak far above. In recent years the mountain has seen its fair share of tragedy and drama. The 2015 earthquake and previous avalanches, along with disputes between climbers on the mountain, have left their mark on Everest trekking and climbing.

Tips : Sit at either the front or back of the plane on the left-hand side when flying to Lukla for best views. The Himalayas are on the left and the front and back are not obscured by the wings of the plane. Sit here for your first glimpse of Mount Everest before your trek. It will help to build the excitement and the view is awe-inspiring.

Remember, you are on Holidays, Enjoy Yourself! The most important thing to remember is that you are on vacation, relax, have an open mind, and enjoy yourself! There is always a lot of spare time when on a trekking trip like Everest Base Camp. You generally walk anywhere from 4-6 hours a day, with the exception of a few longer days, and therefore have plenty of time when you arrive in the tea houses to relax, rest, and have a laugh with your fellow trekkers. It is important to have this time throughout your journey as they help to keep you positive and relaxed, instead of nervous and tense. You also have to keep in mind that you are entering a very different environment than you may be used to when going to Nepal. Things may not be done in the same manner as you may be used to at home, by no means does this imply that things are done wrong there, however they are just different. You must always keep an open mind and remember the fact that there will be cultural differences along the way and to respect those who are there to help us reach our goals! More details at Everest base camp trek.

Top tips : Hire your porter or guide in either Kathmandu or better yet when you arrive in Lukla on the plane. Prices are expensive when you book from your own country and if you book your guides in Nepal, you can be sure that more money is going directly to them as opposed to large corporations. There are many porters and guides that will meet you at the plane when your flight comes in to Lukla that are very experienced and capable. Plus, You have the added bonus of being able to interview them and see if you get on and you save money by not having to pay for their flight from Kathmandu. We climbed with our good friend Dipendra in Nepal, a guide with over a decade of experience.

Stay Hydrated – Make sure to drink plenty of water while on the trail and always keep a full bottle as a spare. You can buy bottled water from many of the tea houses along the trail during the day. A liter of water at the start of the trek in Lukla will run you around $1 USD but by the time you reach Gorek Shep prices are closer to $4. If you want to save some money and help keep the mountain clean a better option is to bring chlorine or iodine tablets and fill your bottle from the local streams. Ask your guide to point you in the right direction. Most villages have a clearly identified water drinking water source that usually comes out of a pipe or hose along the trail.

The tour packages offered by Adventure Great Himalaya Treks & Expeditions give you a fantastic value for money, which is why we are confident you won’t find a better tour package any place else in Nepal. We aim to provide a truly authentic experience for both thrill seekers and first-time travelers. Make your trip to Nepal a holiday of a lifetime with Adventure Great Himalaya Treks & Expeditions. Sri Lanka (formerly Ceylon) is an island nation south of India in the Indian Ocean. Its diverse landscapes range from rainforest and arid plains to highlands and sandy beaches. Its famed for its ancient Buddhist ruins, including the 5th-century citadel Sigiriya, with its palace and frescoes. The city of Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka’s ancient capital, has many ruins dating back more than 2,000 years.

When it comes to wildlife tours, Sri Lanka is most famous for majestic Asian elephant and leopards, (one of the five “big cats”). Sri Lanka holds the world record for highest leopard density in the world, here leopard are super large since they are the highest ranking formidable predators in Sri Lanka, they have evolved more like a jaguar with more muscular, more powerful may be even more powerful than a jaguar, they roam National parks proudly with no idea of fear whatsoever. Not to mention Sri Lanka has the highest density of elephants in Asia. Also World largest elephant gathering happens here in Sri Lanka.

Sri Lank attractions include :

Sigiriya (Lion Rock) is an ancient citadel built atop a rock, named for the large lion paws flanking the entrance to the palace. Built by King Kashyapa in the late 5th century, who usurped the throne from his father, this pleasure palace was built on top of this fortified rock in fear of the return of the rightful heir to the throne, his brother, Prince Moggallana. With sprawling, immaculately designed gardens, colorful frescoes and brilliant architecture that baffles even the most sophisticated engineers today, Sigiriya has been named as an UNESCO World Heritage site and is often referred to as the Eighth Wonder of the World.

The Yala National Park is whereto go for a glimpse of the abundant Sri Lankan wildlife in its natural habitat. Yala is famous for its population of majestic wild elephants, stealthy leopards roaming free, as well as an astounding variety of birds native to Sri Lanka.

The main attraction is Wilpattu National Park, i visited it with help from www.go4safari.com, a travel experts agency specialized in Sri Lanka tours,

Wilpattu National Park is a park located on the island of Sri Lanka. The unique feature of this park is the existence of “Willus” – Natural, sand-rimmed water basins or depressions that fill with rainwater. Located in the Northwest coast lowland dry zone of Sri Lanka.

WILPATTU NATIONAL PARK is located 26 km north of Puttalam (approximately 180 km north of Colombo) spanning from the northwest coast inland towards the ancient capital of Anuradhapura (50 km to the east of the park). Covering an impressive 425 sq miles, the park is Sri Lanka ‘s largest, and having reopened in March, 2010 it is just a matter of time before it becomes a popular eco-tourism destination. Wilpattu is a fairly thick dry zone jungle interspersed with a number of flood plain lakes banked with delicate white sands. It boasts an impressive variety of flora in huge expanses of forest, and varied wildlife, including deer, elephants, wild boar, sloth bears and leopards.

Greece sailing yacht charter

Why is Greece so special?

What makes the region so special?
With 6,000 islands, 4,000 years of history, great hospitality and scrumptious food. Only in Greece! That’s why Greece is a paradise for yacht owners, and if you are a yach owner you also need a Greece yacht charter.

A Feast for the Senses
Mediterranean Cuisine includes the cuisines of all the countries that border the Mediterranean Sea.

Spain, France, Italy, Greece, Turkey, Syria, Israel, Egypt, Algeria, Libya, Tunisia and Morocco.

French and Italian foods are so well known in America, its almost like we dont think of them as Mediterranean anymore, even though they are, especially Italy, which as a peninsula is virtually surrounded by the Mediterranean. Though French and Italian foods and to a lesser extent Greek foods have carved out distinct niches of Mediterranean cuisines, Tunisian, Turkish, Lebanese, Morrocan, Egyptian, Spanish cuisine is all Mediterranean cuisine.

Greece Yacht Charter
The best way to see Greece is with your own chartered yacht. The magic of a yacht is that it is an island in itself and you can see things that are impossible to visit otherwise. There are many places in Greece that are not accessible by road or by any other means than by yacht, and these are the most magical places that a person can visit.

Which areas should I visit on a yacht?
There are just so many islands and each one has its own character. The Cyclades group of islands is the popular yachting area because they have everything there. The Cyclades comprise about 220 islands, the major ones being Delos, Mykonos, Naxos, Paros and Santorni. Mykonos is of course a famous island popular for it’s nightlife and entertainment. During August the Ionian group of Islands is less windy with calmer seas so it is more relaxed area. Consisting of seven islands with the most populat known as Corfu, Paxos, Lefkas and Cythera.

Instead of mooring in a particular marina, you can sail to a secluded cove around the corner where you can moor in all privacy. Then you wake in the morning to discover an unbelievable bay that is completely unique and unspoilt, ready for you to explore.

The most superyachts with charter rates above 200,000 per week are based in Athens which is one reason why Greece is the most popular yacht charter destination in the world.

It is impossible in a lifetime to see everything in Greece. Therefore experience the life on an island and explore it in its entirety as every island will offer an unique experience to the visitor.

Hospitality
Xenia is a Greek word which means friendship towards the foreigner. It is rooted deep inside the culture of the Greek people who take pride in welcoming their visitors to offer you their best food and wine with generous hospitality. We are always astonished at just how far the Greeks will go to take special care of their guests. I would recommend picking up a Greek language book to learn a few Greek words. They are proud of their language and culture and it always means a great deal if you greet them with the word Yassas.

Geography
Greek geography is as varied as you might imagine. From brilliant white roofs cut against wonderful ravishing blue skies to astonishing sunsets over crystal clear azure waters. The Greeks were historically a sea-faring nation, largely because of the numerous deep water bays in the Greek archipelago that could harbor their ships. These small bays make for a wonderful place to go for a swim or snorkeling where youre always be rewarded with tranquility. The only way to visit these secluded bays is with a private yacht charter.

Greece is filled with many archaeological sites, ancient ruins and buildings that easily date back to the turn of the century. Many of these are very well protected and restored and are a great tourist attraction. The Greeks are very proud of their remarkable history. After all, they gave us modern philosophy and democracy.

Affordability
Accommodation prices are affordable and you will always get value for money. Whether you are travelling in luxury or looking for budget options, you can find it all in Greece. Life is more affordable in Greece than other European countries and tourists can enjoy all the pleasure of life at affordable prices.

Greece is one of the most popular world travelling destinations and for good reason!
