WSL 2 still runs from the Windows Terminal (with a new version due from the Windows Store in May), with the new kernel making it more compatible with Linux binaries. It boots fast, and shares memory and CPU without affecting Windows operations. The only real issue is a change in how it uses shared networking, which makes it harder to run Linux graphical applications. However it should be possible to add a startup script that exports the right value every time you launch a WSL 2 instance. Discover extra info at Buy Windows 10 Pro activation keys.
Genuine software means faster PC! Keep in mind, with Windows 10 there are two kinds of applications, traditional desktop ones and modern Windows Store apps. You’ll see both kinds in the modern Settings app’s Apps & Features page. But for non-Store apps, Control Panel opens, where you can uninstall good old desktop programs. In either, you can sort by size, date installed, or name, or search for a particular app. One reason removing apps helps performance is that many programs load processes at boot time and take up valuable RAM and CPU cycles. While you’re in the Programs and Features section of Control, you can also click Turn Windows Features On or Off and scan the list to see if there’s anything you don’t use.
